Do Go On: 500 Episodes and Counting

Long time collaborators with Stupid Old Studios hit a huge milestone recently - 500 episodes!

They celebrated with a huge live show at the Capitol in Melbourne and our team were there to capture the magic live.

A little razzle dazzle

In addition to filming the live show, Matt, Dave and Jess engaged us to create a pre-event video.

“We wanted to make the show extra special for the big milestone” says Matt Stewart

“We thought it would be fun to get as many friends involves as possible, we had six guests lined up for the live show and the video meant we could get a few more - and we thought it would add a bit to the theatre of the night. Plus we knew SOS would make it look sick!”

Reaching a global audience

Integrating video with podcasting is becoming more common. Do Go On film their weekly episodes in our video podcast studio, and they were keen to capture the live experience too.

“This was our biggest live show in Australia and we wanted to capture that! Also a lot of our audience is overseas and we knew they were keen to be able to see it as well,” explains Stewart.

Long time collaboration

Do Go On have worked with Stupid Old Studios for a number of years now. Outside of their regularly recordings at the studio we have also collaborated with them on their AACTA nominated web series, their series exploring Melbourne’s most famous artworks with Arty Facts and most recently with Do Go On: The Quiz Show.

So, why do the team at Do Go On keep coming back?

“(Stupid Old Studios) are a rare mix of super chilled out to work with and also produce absolutely top notch work! Any opportunity to work with them we’ll take it, Emma, Evan, Bec, Jam, Simon - what a dream team!”

Tips for other podcasters

500 episodes is a huge milestone. That’s almost 10 years of weekly episodes - Do Go On have never missed a weekly release date.

The teams advice for other podcasters who are keen to stay in it for the long haul:

“Make a show that you enjoy making with people you enjoy making it with! And stick to a regular release schedule - dull advice but it's worked for us!”
