Wedsure “Wedding Disasters” Podcast

Brands are increasingly using podcasting as a way to reach their audience. New wedding insurance provider, Wedsure, employed Stupid Old Studios and comedian and celebrant Annie Louey to host a fun podcast “Wedding Disasters” as a unique way to highlight their product.

The Brief

Create a video podcast series for the brand Wedsure called “Wedding Disasters” featuring a comedian host, and comedian guests sharing stories about weddings disasters they have experienced, as well as anlaysing disasterous wedding stories submitted by listeners, and from online forums.

The show should be engaging and funny as a priority with the Wedsure brand integrated as a key “sponsor” of the program.

Our Approach

Pre Production

We worked with Wedsure’s agency The Product Agency from to consult on the full podcast lifecycle.

Casting: Casting appropriate funny talent, we put a few options forward but it was hard to look past Annie Louey who has chops as both a stand up comedian, presenter and and wedding celebrant. What are the chances?

Structure: We worked with the client on developing the show structure including duration, segments and how to best integrate the brand

Production and Graphic Design: We created a wedding-themed look for the show complete with falling down wedding cake and butchered flower arch filmed in our main production studio in front of our LED video walls. We also created the show thumbnail and individual graphics for each show.

Guests: We utilised our connect with the comedy community to book guests for each episodes

Scripting: We scripted parts of the podcasts including questions for guests and the Wedsure copy

Production

For efficient we shot 6 episodes over 2 days. We also filmed a promotional video to advertise the launch of the podcast and took a series of still images.

Post Production

Post production included full video edits of each episode as well as the creation of short clips for sharing for organic and paid social media.

We also created audio versions of each episode

Roll out

We worked with the Product Agency on the rolle out of the podcast by setting up podcast hosting and distribution, helping with episode copywriting and individual show artwork.

Combined clips and podcast episodes received of 70,000 views providing many pieces of unique and memorable content for Wedsure.
